3 Reasons to get a New Website
Working with small to medium size businesses to rebuild their websites has recently become our bread and butter, and it’s what we love to do.
From the initial meeting to launching a new site, we truly enjoy taking businesses through the website redesign process. Over the years we’ve had clients come to us with all sorts of different reasons they want a new website but there are three that we believe trump all the others.
If your website falls into one of these categories below then you may want to consider taking some initial steps to redesign your site.
Your customers (or members) are constantly complaining about your site
The heartbeat of any business or organization is your target audience. Whether it’s customers or members, if they’re consistently telling you that they either can’t stand, avoid using or have difficulty navigating your website, you should probably listen to them and start investigating what it would take to get a new website.
Your website is often someone’s first impression of your business. If it’s actively turning off your fans, then you can only begin to imagine the affect a bad website will have on potential customers, members or supporters of your business (or organization).
It’s not mobile responsive
Google now reports that 61% of users are unlikely to return to a mobile site they had trouble accessing and 40% visit a competitor’s site instead. If that’s not enough to make you consider an update, Google also actively penalizes non-mobile friendly websites during searches.
Mobile web-usage is a trend that isn’t going away anytime soon. Your website should already be responsive but if isn’t responsive by the end of 2017 then we can pretty much guarantee that you’ve already lost some leads, and will continue to do so until you make the necessary changes.
Your site’s purpose has changed
Like many businesses, your goals and objectives have probably changed over the years, which means your website may not be an accurate reflection of your business. While this doesn’t mean you have to change your website every time you have a new strategic plan, it’s a good idea to check in to make sure your website still aligns with your goals when you undergo a major change in strategy.
If you’ve identified major gaps between what your website can currently do, and what you want it to do, then it might be time to consider a new one.
